Dear Friends,

“How is it going?”  That’s been the recurring question I’ve been asked over the past few weeks.  Part of the answer involves sharing one of the biggest blessings that has been part of my new responsibilities:  I have met individually with each of the women who oversee the various ministries (check out the list at the top of this page) and it has been my joy to hear them share their personal faith journey and their love for their Savior.   In addition, their enthusiasm for their particular area of the Women’s Ministry, and their passion to serve the women of Colonial and our community are abundantly evident.  I hope you will faithfully pray for each of them (they are listed in the above heading “About Us”).  Just as you’ve encouraged me with your kind words, I hope you will take time to support them in that way as well.

Please check out the various places to “plug in” this fall.  The Bible Studies offer help in growing in our knowledge of God and His Word with the added opportunity to meet and fellowship with other women.  Informal times of fellowship are offered in the Book Club and Creative CraftingMOPS and Woman to Woman (W2W) provide an atmosphere for meaningful and intentional relationships while growing in our spiritual walk.  If you have a heart for outreach, Helping Hands enables you to participate with other women from Colonial in coordinated efforts to minister to our community.  Though you may not be a newcomer, invite that Sunday morning visitor, that neighbor who just moved in, or that co-worker who just moved to the area, to Newcomers Connection.  It’s a great way to introduce them to the community, to Colonial, and maybe even to Christ!  (Okay, yes, I lead the Newcomer’s group.  Please excuse the “shameless plug”!”)

In addition to regularly checking this website, please pay careful attention to the Women’s Ministry section in the communique.  We all have busy schedules and there are tons of options vying for our time, but I hope you will carefully consider investing in an area of Women’s Ministry that will have present benefit and eternal blessing for YOU and for others.

Thank you for your continued (and much needed!) prayer support.  I also appreciate those who have taken me up on the offer to meet one-on-one to hear your thoughts on how this ministry can be more effective.  Coffee or tea?  My home or a coffee shop?  The offer still stands!

Joyful in Christ,

Jane Zempel
